What is the Faith Formation program?
In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commissioned his disciples to "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I I have commanded you, and behold, I will be with you always, until the end of the world.

Jesus has entrusted each of us with both the privilege and responsibility of taking God's Word to those who cross our path. Parents, first of all, begin this important task when they lead their children to receive the gift of faith through Baptism. Parents are their children's first teachers, nurturing faith within their homes.

Our mission in the Faith Formation program is to collaborate with parents to form a new generation of Catholics who find the love of Jesus Christ and live as his disciples in the community of the Catholic Church. We will strive to offer a unified, strong, and engaging faith formation program.

While our children will receive formation through Our Lady of Fatima's faith formation program, the Church strongly encourages all parents to walk closely with their children as they grow in the knowledge and practice of the Catholic faith. Our Lady of Fatima Parish will also help parents grow in their faith by providing faith formation classes for them as well.

Our Lady of Fatima Faith Formation program will plant a seed of faith that will grow eternally in each child.
The faith formation program helps nurture that growing faith with religious instruction for children from 2nd grade through 12th grade.

Is God calling you to be a catechist?

So, what is a catechist, exactly?
The word catechist comes from a Greek word meaning "to echo".  Catechists echo the Word of God to the children of our parish.  Catechists come from all walks of life and are all ages. They are ordinary people, just like you, who generously volunteer their time to share our Catholic faith, values, and traditions with our youngest generation of Christians and to walk beside/bear witness to them. They are positive role models who help children grow in faith, spirituality and their relationship with God. Their gift of time and talents has tremendous value because through their words, actions, and expression of love for their students, the message of Jesus Christ continues to spread throughout the world.

Could you be a Catechist?

Do you:
  • Love God and want to know Him better?
  • Do you want to instill that love of God in others?
  • Enjoy children and want to be a good role model for them?
  • Want to share your faith and help others grow in their faith?
  • Want to help children develop a relationship with God through Jesus Christ?
If you answered to “yes” to any of these questions, it may mean that God is calling you to be a Catechist!

If you are interested in participating as a catechist or assistant catechist please contact:
